Auburn Hills, MI—December 3, 2009—The City of Auburn Hills, a dynamic community committed to innovation and growth, has purchased office space in downtown Auburn Hills using funds from the City’s Tax Increment Finance Authority. Located east of Squirrel at 3395 Auburn Road, the new site is a street level unit of a work/live development and will serve as an operational hub for city personnel during city-sponsored events. It will also be available free-of-charge to city-based businesses that want to use the 10-person conference room to meet downtown.

According to Auburn Hills City Manager Pete Auger, the time was right to purchase the space, which was one of the recommendations in the HyettPalma study focusing on the City's downtown enhancement strategy.

"From a business perspective, the availability of premium real estate at an affordable price guided the purchase decision. Equally important, though, is for the City of Auburn Hills to be a visible part of the vitality and energy of the rising downtown area with its shopping, restaurants, and arts and entertainment venues and events," explains Mr. Auger. "Going forward, our new downtown presence will give Auburn Hills and its businesses a strong sense of place and community to complement our Civic Center campus."

The new space will be open to the public on Monday, December 7, during the Christmas Tree Lighting event, which begins at 6 pm at the MOMS’ World War II Memorial at the corner of Squirrel and Auburn in downtown Auburn Hills.
